Special Research Opportunity for Eligible Patients
Dr. Jarrett is currently collaborating in a clinical study, the purpose of which is to determine the performance of a genetic assay, GemART, in cumulus cells which may be predictive of embryo viability and pregnancy success in women undergoing IVF. If successful, this method could improve IVF success rates and reduce the financial, physical, and emotional tolls on IVF patients. Since Dr. Jarrett's program is one of only a very select few around the country chosen to participate in this study, should you qualify, we certainly hope you will choose to participate. For your participation, you will receive $1,500 to offset your IVF expenses.
Further information about this study is available at http://www.fertstert.org/article/S0015-0282(12)02385-0/abstract
On the Issue of
Higher Order Multiple Pregnancy (HOMP)
Our goal is the successful and healthy birth of one or two babies as the result of IVF or ovulation induction. We carefully monitor ovulation induction cycle with ultrasound to determine the number of follicles and eggs present. We have clear guidelines as to what constitutes an acceptable number, and above that number we will suggest cancelation rather risk HOMP. The ASRM has established guidelines for the number of embryos to be transferred at the time of IVF and we adhere to these guidelines. Single Embryo Transfer is also an option available. Optimizing pregnancy rates while virtually eliminating triplets and beyond is something we strive hard to do.
