Outside of major metropolitan areas there have historically been two problems with receiving world-class care in reproductive medicine and infertility: the required travel distance and the loss of contact with one’s primary obstetrician/gynecologist. As an example, all of the reproductive medicine programs in Indiana are headquartered in the metropolitan Indianapolis area. Our experience has been that patients do not mind traveling significant distances for consultations or major procedures, but the extensive monitoring required for almost all treatment cycles often conflicts with work, school, or personal obligations. These conflicts preclude many patients from utilizing these services.
In this program, trained personnel at the Ob Gyn office will monitor the patients in their local offices while the physicians of Jarrett Fertility Group are managing the patient’s treatment. Access to advanced reproductive services is increased greatly for many patients by allowing a monitoring schedule that will not conflict with daily obligations. This also allows the primary physician to be up to the minute with their individual patient’s status. Patients receive continuity of care from both their OB Gyn office and Jarrett Fertility Group.
