Recurrent Pregnancy Loss > Cause > Hormonal

Abnormalities of the thyroid, and diabetes can be associated with recurrent loss. The thyroid and prolactin should be checked. Prolactin is a pituitary hormone that controls breast milk production. If it is midly elevated, it can interfere with progesterone production and not really cause breast milk production. Thyroid conditions, either overactive or underactive, can be a problem. Diabetes is usually evident, but this may need to be checked if there is any question.
