Recurrent Pregnancy Loss > Testing > Parental Chromosomes

In couples with a history of recurrent pregnancy loss, consideration has to be given to evaluating the chromosomes of both the husband and wife. While an abnormality is encountered in about 1/1000 couples, chromosomal abnormalities are not something that can be corrected. Translocations or ring chromosomes can be present, resulting in an individual who is perfectly normal but is incapable of producing a genetically normal offpsring. Chrosomes are checked with a blood test on both the husband and wife.
